※ Augustine of Hippo ( Saint Augustine, 354~430, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustine_of_Hippo ) ; a theologian and philosopher, the bishop of Hippo Regius from Thagaste in Numidia Cirtensis, (present-day Souk Ahras, Algeria).
His many important works include The City of God, On Christian Doctrine, and Confessions.
Augustine is recognized as a saint in the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Lutheran churches, and the Anglican Communion.

What did people truly want to say to the world?
I want to convey the true heart of the person published here.
With this mindset, I hope to properly express Saint Augustine's heart.
1. Forgiveness is the remission of sins.
용서는 죄의 사(赦)함이다.
2. Patience is the companion of wisdom.
인내는 지혜의 동반자이다.
3. Pray as though everything depended on God.
Work as though everything depended on you.
모든 것이 하나님께 달려있는 것처럼 기도하라.
모든 것이 당신에게 달려있는 것처럼 일하라.
4. The soul, which is spirit, can not dwell in dust ; it is carried along to dwell in the blood.
정신으로 살아가는 영혼은 풍찬노숙하지 않고 사람의 혈액 속에 들어와 순환한다.
5. Thou must be emptied of that wherewith thou art full, that thou mayest be filled with that whereof thou art empty.
당신의 가득히 채워진 곳을 비워야 하며, 비워진 곳을 채워나가는 것이 당신의 예술이다.
6. Beauty is indeed a good gift of God ; but that the good may not think it a great good, God dispenses it even to the wicked.
아름다움(美)은 실로 하나님의 좋은 선물이다.
그러나 선(善)은 좋은 선물로 여기지 않을 수도 있으므로, 하나님은 선을 악인에게도 분배하신다.
7. The desire is thy prayers ; and if thy desire is without ceasing, thy prayer will also be without ceasing.
The continuance of your longing is the continuance of your prayer.
욕망은 당신의 기도다. 그대의 욕망이 멈추지 않는다면 그대의 기도 역시 멈추지 않을 것이다.
갈망(渴望)의 지속은 기도의 지속이다.
8. Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by the accidents of time, or place, or circumstances, are brought into closer connection with you.
모든 사람에게 선을 행할 수는 없으므로, 시간이나 장소 또는 상황상 당신과 더 가까운 관계를 맺고 있는 사람들에게 특별한 주의를 기울여야 한다.
9. If two friends ask you to judge a dispute, don't accept, because you will lose one friend; on the other hand, if two strangers come with the same request, accept because you will gain one friend.
만약에 두 친구가 당신에게 분쟁을 판단해 달라고 하면, 받아들이지 마라.
왜냐하면 당신은 한 친구를 잃게 될 것이기 때문이다.
반면에 두 명의 낯선 사람이 같은 요청을 해온다면, 한 명의 친구를 얻게 될 것이므로 받아들여라.
10. Do you wish to be great? Then begin by being.
Do you desire to construct a vast and lofty fabric?
Think first about the foundations of humility.
The higher your structure is to be, the deeper must be its foundation.
위대해지고 싶은가? 그럼 현재 상태로부터 시작하라.
크고 고상한 직물(원단)을 만들고 싶은가?
기본적으로 겸손에 대해 먼저 생각하라.
구조가 높아질수록 그 토대는 더 깊고 튼튼해야 한다.
11. What does love look like?
It has the hands to help others.
It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy.
It has eyes to see misery and want.
It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men.
That is what love looks like.
사랑은 어떻게 생겼을까?
남들을 도울 수 있는 손을 가지고 있다.
가난하고 궁핍한 사람들에게 달려갈 수 있는 발을 가지고 있다.
고통과 갈망(渴望)을 볼 수 있는 눈을 가지고 있다.
한숨과 슬픔을 들을 수 있는 귀를 가지고 있다.
그것이 바로 사랑이다.
