※ Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849~1936, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Pavlov ) ; a Russian and Soviet experimental neurologist and physiologist known for his discovery of classical conditioning through his experiments with dogs.

Pavlov also conducted significant research on the physiology of digestion, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1904.

What did people truly want to say to the world?
I want to convey the true heart of the person published here.
With this mindset, I hope to properly express Ivan Pavlov's heart.

1. Learn the ABC of science before you try to ascend to its summit.

2. While you are experimenting, do not remain content with the surface of things.

3. Don't become a mere recorder of facts, but try to penetrate the mystery of their origin.

4. People are apt to be much more influenced by words than by the actual facts of the surrounding reality.

5. Perfect as the wing of a bird may be, it will never enable the bird to fly if unsupported by the air.

6. From the very beginning of your work, school yourself to severe gradualness in the accumulation of knowledge.

7. School yourself to demureness and patience.

Learn to inure yourself to drudgery in science.

Learn, compare, collect the facts.

8. Never think that you already know all.

However highly you are appraised, always have the courage to say to yourself-I am ignorant.

9. Do not become archivists of facts.

Try to penetrate to the secret of their occurrence, persistently search for the laws which govern them.

10. Now is the really critical moment for natural science ; for the brain, in its highest complexity-the human brain-which created and creates natural science, itself becomes the object of this science.

11. The physiologist who succeeds in penetrating deeper and deeper into the digestive canal becomes convinced that it consists of a number of chemical laboratories equipped with various mechanical devices.

12. It is clear to all that the animal organism is a highly complex system consisting of an almost infinite series of parts connected both with one another and, as a total complex, with the surrounding world, with which it is in a state of equilibrium.

Grace Brewster Hopper (1906~1992, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_Hopper ) ; an American computer scientistmathematician, and United States Navy rear admiral.

She was a pioneer of computer programming. Hopper was the first to devise the theory of machine-independent programming languages, and used this theory to develop the FLOW-MATIC programming language and COBOL, an early high-level programming language still in use today.

What did people truly want to say to the world?

I want to convey the true heart of the person published here.

With this mindset, I hope to properly express Grace Hopper's heart.

1. I've always been more interested in the future than in the past.

2. It is often easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

3. One accurate measurement is worth a thousand expert opinions.

4. A ship in port is safe, but that's not what ships are built for.

5. No computer is ever going to ask a new, reasonable question.

It takes trained people to do that.

6. The most damaging phrase in the language is : 'It is always been done that way.'

7. I always tell young people, 'If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. You can always apologize later.‘

8. Leadership is a two-way street, loyalty up and loyalty down.

Respect for one's superiors ; care for one's crew.

리더십은 2차선 길이라고 할 수 있는데, loyalty up과 loyalty down이다.

9. To me programming is more than an important practical art.

It is also a gigantic undertaking in the foundations of knowledge.

10. We're flooding people with information.

We need to feed it through a processor.

A human must turn information into intelligence or knowledge.

11. When we need greater computer power, the answer is not to get a bigger computer, but . . . to build systems of computers and operate them in parallel.
