1. Fact is richer than diction.
팩트는 말씨보다 더 풍부하다.

2. Sentences are not as such either true or false.
문장 그 자체만으로는 참도 거짓도 아니다.

3. Why should it not be the whole function of a word to denote many things?
왜 많은 것을 나타내는 것이 단어의 전체 기능이 아니어야 하는가?

4. Usually it is uses of words, not words in themselves, that are properly called vague.
일반적으로 애매모호한 단어는 단어 자체가 그렇다기 보다는 그 단어를 주로 모호하게 사용한다.

5. Ordinary language embodies the metaphysics of the Stone Age.

9. What is truth?
We ask ourselves whether Truth is a substance (the Truth, the Body of Knowledge), or a quality (something like the colour red, inhering in truths), or a relation (correspondence).
진리란 무엇인가?
우리는 진리가 실체(진리 그 자체, 지식의 본체)인지, 아니면 품질(빨간색, 진리를 내재하고 있는 것과 같은 것)인지, 관계(대응)인지 자문(自問)한다.

10. After all we speak of people 'taking refuge' in vagueness - the more precise you are, in general the more likely you are to be wrong, whereas you stand a good chance of not being wrong if you make it vague enough.
결국 우리는 애매모호하게 '회피'하는 사람들에 대해 이야기해보자.
일반적으로 더 정확하게 말할수록 틀릴 가능성이 더 높지만, 만약 그것을 빠져나갈 구멍을 마련하기 위해 애매모호하게 말한다면 틀리지 않을 가능성이 더 높다.
