He served as prime minister from 1959 to 1976, president from 1976 to 2008, and first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba from 1965 until 2011. Ideologically a Marxist–Leninist and Cuban nationalist, under his administration Cuba became a one-party communist state; industry and business were nationalized, and socialist reforms were implemented throughout society.

After Batista's overthrow in 1959, Castro assumed military and political power as Cuba's prime minister (1959년 바티스타 정권 전복 후, 그는 쿠바의 총리로서 군사적, 정치적 권력을 장악했다).
Adopting a Marxist–Leninist model of development, Castro converted Cuba into a one-party, socialist state under Communist Party rule, the first in the Western Hemisphere (마르크스-레닌주의 발전 모델을 채택한 그는 쿠바를 서반구 최초의 공산당 통치하의 일당 사회주의 국가로 만들었다).
Castro was the longest-serving non-royal head of state in the 20th and 21st centuries and polarized world opinion about his rule (그는 20세기와 21세기에 걸쳐 왕족이 아닌 국가 원수로서 가장 오랫동안 재임했으며, 그의 통치에 대해 세계 여론이 양분되었다).

What did people truly want to say to the world?
I want to convey the true heart of the person published here.
With this mindset, I hope to properly express Fidel Castro's heart.

16. I don't think that the contradictions between capitalism and socialism can be resolved by war.
This is no longer the age of the bow and arrow.
It's the nuclear age, and war can annihilate us all.
The only way to achieve solutions seems to be for the different social systems to coexist.
자본주의와 사회주의의 모순은 전쟁으로 해결될 수 없다고 생각한다.
