What did people truly want to say to the world?
I want to convey the true heart of the person published here.
With this mindset, I hope to properly express Trey Anastasio's heart.
1. If there's one thing I discovered since I came back from hiatus, it's that you can't go backwards.
공백기를 마치고 돌아와서 깨달은 게 하나 있다면, 뒤로 되돌아갈 수 없다는 것이다.
2. I’ve always loved the experience of working together with other people toward an artistic goal.
나는 항상 예술적 목표를 향해 다른 사람들과 함께 일하는 경험을 좋아했다.
3. Set the gearshift for the high gear of your soul.
You've got to run like an antelope, out of control.
영혼의 높은 기어를 위해 기어 변속을 설정하라.
통제 불능 상태에서도 영양처럼 달려야 한다.
4. Music has always been my protection against the world, from a very young age.
I feel safe inside of a jam.
아주 어릴 때부터 음악은 항상 세상으로부터 나를 보호해 주었다.

Musicians are simply channels to link the audience to the music and to each other.

7. I've learned that in the theater the story is everything.
Every lyric, every line and every musical gesture has to propel the journey of a given character or the overall plot.

8. It's like you're surfing...
The same wave that can be a source of pain can be a beautiful flowing grace and source of power.
It's all a matter of how you respond to it.

고통의 근원이 될 수 있는 동일한 강도(剛度)의 파도가 아름답게 흐르는 은혜와 힘의 근원이 될 수도 있다.
그 차이는 모두 자신이 그것에 어떻게 반응하느냐의 문제이다.
9. I feel a great responsibility to deliver for our audience ...
I am like their servant, but there's only one honest way to lift people up, which is to feel genuinely elevated yourself.
And the way to do that is follow your heart.
That's all we try to do.
관객들에게 무언가를 전달해야 한다는 막중한 책임감을 느낀다...
나는 관객들의 하인과도 같지만, 사람들을 고양(高揚)시키는 유일하고도 정직한 방법은 자신이 진정으로 고양되었다고 느끼는 것이다.
자신을 고양시키는 방법은 자신의 마음을 따르는 것이다.
이것이 우리가 하려고 하는 전부이다.
10. As long as your intention is pure, and you know what you're in it for, then you're alright.
And I'm in it because I enjoy it.
I take it seriously... real seriously.
I mean I could sit and talk all day about the music.
자신의 의도가 순수하고, 자신이 무엇을 위해 존재하고 있는지 알고 있는 한, 괜찮은 상태이다.
나는 그것을 즐기기 때문에 이 상태로 존재한다.
나는 그것을 진지하게 받아들인다... 진짜 진지하게~
하루 종일 앉아서 음악에 대해 이야기 할 수 있다는 뜻이다.
11. Musicians from the beginning of time have been there to express the mood and the musical feelings in the air for whatever's going on in that particular culture.
It's the greatest joy as a musician to be able to translate that, be part of something and watch the scenery around you.
태초부터 뮤지션들은 특정 문화에서 일어나는 모든 일에 대한 공기의 분위기와 음악적 느낌을 표현하기 위해 그곳에 있었다.
그 느낌을 번역할 수 있고, 무언가의 일부가 되어 주변의 풍경을 감상할 수 있다는 것은 뮤지션으로서 가장 큰 기쁨이다.
12. Music is a spiritual expression of what's in your heart.
Music as a way of getting rich is a pretty new thing, and I often wonder if the mega-bucks glitzy atmosphere is making the quality of music suffer.
You have to work really hard to get around that and remember why you're in it in the first place: because you have to be.
It's like an addiction.
You can't go a day without picking up your guitar.
To me, the only commercial goals that are really valid are, 'Boy, I wish I didn't have to go to work. I wish I could do this all the time.‘
음악은 마음속에 있는 것을 영적으로 표현하는 것이다.
부자가 되는 방법으로서의 음악은 꽤 새로운 것인데, 나는 종종 엄청난 돈의 현란한 분위기가 음악의 질을 떨어뜨리고 있는 것은 아닌지 궁금하다.
그 문제를 해결하기 위해 정말 열심히 노력해야 하고, 애초에 왜 그러한 상황이 펼쳐지고 있는지 생각해야 한다. 그래야만 하기 때문이다.
돈은 중독과도 같다.
나는 기타를 들지 않고는 하루도 버틸 수가 없다.
나에게 정말 유효한 유일한 상업적 목표는 '이제 일하러 가지 않아도 될 상황이 되면 좋겠다. 나는 항상 이렇게 살 수 있으면 좋겠다.'
