※ Aldo Leopold (1887~1948, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldo_Leopold ) ; an American writer, philosopher, naturalist, scientist, ecologist, forester, conservationist, and environmentalist.
Leopold was influential in the development of modern environmental ethics and in the movement for wilderness conservation.
He emphasized biodiversity and ecology and was a founder of the science of wildlife management.

What did people truly want to say to the world?
I want to convey the true heart of the person published here.
With this mindset, I hope to properly express Aldo Leopold's heart.
1. Conservation is a state of harmony between men and land.
보존은 사람과 땅이 조화를 이루는 상태이다.
2. The oldest task in human history: to live on a piece of land without spoiling it.
인류 역사상 가장 오래된 임무는 땅을 훼손하지 않고 땅에서 살아가는 것이다.
3. Land is not merely soil, it is a fountain of energy flowing through a circuit of soils, plants and animals.
땅은 단순한 흙이 아니라 흙, 식물, 동물의 순환을 통해 흐르는 에너지의 원천이다.
4. There can be no doubt that a society rooted in the soil is more stable than one rooted in pavements.
흙에 뿌리를 둔 사회가 포장 도로에 뿌리를 둔 사회보다 안정적이라는 것은 의심의 여지가 없다.

9. We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us.
When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.
우리는 토지를 우리 소유의 상품으로 간주하기 때문에 토지를 남용한다.
우리가 땅을 우리가 속한 공동체로 볼 때, 우리는 땅을 사랑과 존경으로 사용하기 시작할지도 모른다.
10. Wilderness is a resource which can shrink but not grow... the creation of new wilderness in the full sense of the word is impossible.

11. If we lose our wilderness, we have nothing left, in my opinion, worth fighting for; or to be more exact, a completely industrialized United States is of no consequence to me.

Perhaps such a shift of values can be achieved by reappraising things unnatural, tame, and confined in terms of things natural, wild, and free.

15. Every region should retain representative samples of its original or wilderness condition, to serve science as a sample of normality.
Just as doctors must study healthy people to understand disease, so must the land sciences study the wilderness to understand disorders of the land-mechanism.
모든 지역은 과학을 정상성의 표본으로 활용하기 위해, 원래 상태나 야생 상태의 대표 표본을 유지해야 한다.
의사가 질병을 이해하기 위해 건강한 사람을 연구해야 하는 것처럼, 토지 과학도 토지 메커니즘의 무질서를 이해하기 위해 황야를 연구해야 한다.
