※ Freda Josephine Baker (1906~1975, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josephine_Baker ) ; an American-born French dancer, singer, and actress (20세기 미국 태생의 프랑스 댄서, 가수, 배우).

Her costume, consisting only of a short skirt of artificial bananas and a beaded necklace, became an iconic image and a symbol both of the Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties (인조 바나나로 만든 짧은 치마와 구슬 목걸이로만 구성된 그녀의 의상은 Jazz Age 시대와 광란의 1920년대를 상징하는 이미지가 되었다).

※ Sitting Bull (1831~1890, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitting_Bull ) ; 라코타족(Lakota)이 미국 정부와 맞선 시기 라코타족의 한 갈래인 훙크파파족(Hunkpapa)의 지도자이다. 영어권에선 그의 이름을 직역한 시팅 불(Sitting Bull, 앉아있는 소)로 널리 알려졌다.

1876년 제7 기병연대와 샤이엔족, 라코타족의 연합 부대가 맞서 싸운 리틀빅혼 전투(Battle of the Little Bighorn)를 승리로 이끌었다. 이 전투는 아메리카 원주민이 미군을 상대로 거둔 몇 안되는 승리이다.

그는 전투 전에 많은 병사들이 라코타족 진영에 메뚜기떼처럼 뛰어들어오는 환영을 보았다고 하며, 제7 기병연대는 전투 끝에 궤멸하였다.

그는 기병대에게 쫓기는 와중에도 항복을 거부하고 1877년 5월 오늘날 캐나다의 서스캐처원주에 해당하는 노스웨스트 영토의 우드산으로 무리를 이끌었다. 라코타족은 1881년까지 이곳에 머물다가 미군에 항복하기로 하고 다시 미국 영토로 돌아왔다.
