※ Antonie Philips van Leeuwenhoek(1632~1723, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonie_van_Leeuwenhoek ) ; 17세기~18세기초 과학 기술의 황금 시대의 네덜란드 미생물학자, 현미경 학자(Dutch microbiologist and microscopist in the Golden Age of Dutch science and technology)이다.

그는 현미경(the Father of Microbiology)을 발명하였으며 또한 근육 섬유, 박테리아, 정자, 적혈구, 통풍성 결절의 결정체(muscle fibers, bacteria, spermatozoa, red blood cells, crystals in gouty tophi)에 대한 현미경 관찰을 처음으로 문서화했으며 모세혈관(capillaries)에서 혈류를 관찰한 최초의 사람 중 한 사람이다.
