15. However much a president wishes it, a national problem cannot be knocked out with a single punch.
A president must work with the problem as much as against it, turn it into a solution if she can.
대통령이 아무리 원한다고 해도 국가적인 문제는 단 한방에 해결될 수는 없다.
대통령은 어떤 문제에 대해 반대하더라도 그 문제를 해결해야 한다.
가능하다면 그것을 해결책으로 바꿔야 한다.

As I have shown, I will defend democracy with arms when it is threatened by violence; with firmness when it is weakened by division; with law and order when it is subverted by anarchy; and always, I will try to sustain it by wise policies of economic progress so that a democracy means not just an empty liberty, but a full life for all.
내가 보여준 것처럼, 나는 폭력의 위협을 받을 때 무기로 민주주의를 지킬 것이다.
분열로 약해질 때는 견고함으로, 무정부 상태에 의해 전복될 때는 법과 질서로, 항상 나는 민주주의가 공허한 자유가 아니라 모두를 위한 충만한 삶을 의미하도록 현명한 경제 발전 정책으로 민주주의를 유지하려고 노력할 것이다.
17. Our children are our most cherished possession.
In their early years, we must make sure they get a healthy start in life.
They must receive the right food for a healthy body, the right education for a bright and inquiring mind - and the equal opportunity for a meaningful job.
우리 자녀들이 가장 소중한 재산이다.
어린 시절에 우리는 그들이 인생에서 건강한 출발을 하도록 해야 한다.
건강한 몸을 위한 올바른 음식, 밝고 탐구적인 사고력(思考力)을 위한 올바른 교육, 의미 있는 직업에 대한 동등한 기회를 제공받아야 한다.
