업보(카르마)의 개념을 요약하면 갚아야 할 빚이다.

하지만 업보는 각자 지니고 다녀야 할 짐이 아니라고 나는 덧붙이고 싶다.

업보는 사랑과 용서를 실천할 기회, 우리에게 가치 있는 교훈을 배울 기회이다.

업보는 우리에게 더러운 슬레이트를 깨끗이 닦고, 과거의 잘못된 행동을 지울 수 있는 기회를 제공한다.

14. There is no death! Death is very much like sunset.

It is only an appearance.

For, when the sun sets here, it rises elsewhere.

In reality, the sun never sets.

Likewise, death is only an illusion, an appearance.

For, what is death here is birth elsewhere.

For life is endless.

죽음과 일몰은 겉모습일 뿐이다.

여기에서 죽어도 다른 곳에서 탄생하기 때문이다.

We will realise that we are responsible for all that happens to us.

As we sow, so shall we reap.

Rich or poor, saint or sinner, miser or philanthropist, learned or illiterate...

This is the Universal Law that applies to individuals, to whole communities, societies, nations and races.

카르마의 개념을 이해하기 시작할 때, 우리에게 일어나는 모든 일에 대해 우리는 결코 신을 비난하지 않을 것이다.

우리는 자기에게 일어나는 모든 일에 책임이 있음을 깨닫게 될 것이다.

각자 뿌린 대로 거둘 것이다.

부자든 가난한 사람이든, 성인(聖人)이든 죄인이든, 구두쇠이든 자선가이든, 학식이 있든 문맹이든…

이것은 개인, 전체 공동체, 사회, 국가 및 인류에 적용되는 보편적인 법칙이다.
