2. Every moment is enormous and it is all we have.

5. Trust in what you love, continue to do it, and it will take you where you need to go.

6. If you are not afraid of the voices inside you, you will not fear the critics outside you.

It means knowing who you are, what you are supposed to be doing on this earth, and then simply doing it.

자유는 자신이 누구인지, 자기가 이 지구에서 무엇을 해야 하는지를 아는 것, 그리고 단순히 그 사명(使命)을 실행하는 것을 의미한다.
11. Use loneliness.
Its ache creates urgency to reconnect with the world.
Take that aching and use it to propel you deeper into your need for expression - to speak, to say who you are.
외로움을 이용하라.
외로움의 고통은 세상과 다시 연결되어야 하는 시급함을 깨닫게 해준다.
그 고통을 받아들이고 외로움을 활용하여 표현의 필요성, 즉 자신이 누구인지 말하기 위해 더 깊이 외로움 속으로 들어가라.
12. If you're having difficulty coming up with new ideas, then slow down.
For me, slowing down has been a tremendous source of creativity.
It has allowed me to open up -- to know that there's life under the earth and that I have to let it come through me in a new way.
새로운 아이디어를 떠올리는 데 어려움이 있다면 속도를 늦추어라.
속도를 늦추는 것이 나에게는 엄청난 창의성의 원천이었으며,
내가 마음을 열 수 있게 해주었다.
지구 아래에 생명이 있다는 것과 그 생명들이 새로운 방식으로 나를 통해 나오게 해야 한다는 것을 깨치게 되었다.
13. The positive thing about writing is that you connect with yourself in the deepest way.
You get a chance to know who you are, to know what you think.
You begin to have a relationship with your mind.
글쓰기의 긍정적인 점은 가장 깊은 방식으로 자기 자신과 연결된다는 것이다.
글쓰기를 통해서 우리는 자신이 누구인지 그리고 자기가 생각하는 것을 알 기회를 얻게 되고,
자신의 마음과 관계를 맺기 시작한다.
14. Writing practice brings us back to the uniqueness of our own minds and an acceptance of it.
We all have wild dreams, fantasies, and ordinary thoughts.
Let us to feel the texture of them and not be afraid of them.
Writing is still the wildest thing I know.
글쓰기 연습은 우리 마음의 독특함과 그것을 받아들이는 것으로 우리를 되돌려준다.
우리 모두는 와일드한 꿈, 환상, 평범한 생각을 가지고 있다.
그러한 생각들의 감촉을 느끼고 그것들을 두려워하지 말자.
글쓰기는 여전히 내가 아는 가장 와일드한 일이다.
15. Our bodies are garbage heaps: we collect experience, and from the decomposition of the thrown-out eggshells, spinach leaves, coffee grinds, and old steak bones out of our minds come nitrogen, heat, and very fertile soil.
Out of this fertile soil bloom our poems and stories.
But this does not come all at once. It takes time.
Continue to turn over and over the organic details of your life until some of them fall through the garbage of discursive thoughts to the solid ground of black soil.
우리 몸은 쓰레기 더미이다.
우리는 경험을 수집하고, 버려진 달걀 껍질, 시금치 잎, 커피 찌꺼기, 오래된 스테이크 뼈를 분해하여 마음에서 질소, 열을 가미하여 아주 비옥한 토양을 얻게 된다.
이 비옥한 토양에서 우리의 시와 이야기가 피어난다.
그러나 이것은 한 번에 생성되지 않으며, 시간이 걸린다.
자기 인생의 유기적인 세부 사항을 계속해서 뒤집어라.
그중 일부가 담론적인 생각의 쓰레기를 통과하여 검은 흙의 단단한 땅에 떨어질 때까지 말이다.
