※ Zeno (Zenon of Cyprus, Zeno of Citium, BC 335~BC 263, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeno_of_Cyprus , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeno_of_Citium ) ; Hellenistic philosopher from Citium (ΚίτιονKition), Cyprus.

He was the founder of the Stoic school of philosophy, which he taught in Athens from about 300 BC.

Based on the moral ideas of the Cynics, Stoicism laid great emphasis on goodness and peace of mind gained from living a life of virtue in accordance with nature.

It proved very popular, and flourished as one of the major schools of philosophy from the Hellenistic period through to the Roman era, and enjoyed revivals in the Renaissance as Neostoicism and in the current era as Modern Stoicism.

What did people truly want to say to the world?
I want to convey the true heart of the person published here.
With this mindset, I hope to properly express Zenon's heart.

1. Follow where reason leads.

2. Extravagance is its own destroyer.

3. The goal of life is living in agreement with nature.

4. Wellbeing is attained by little and little, and nevertheless is no little itself.

5. We have two ears and one mouth, so we should listen more than we say.

6. No evil is honorable ; but death is honorable ; therefore death is not evil.

7. Get rid of the judgment… get rid of ‘I am hurt,’ you are rid of the hurt itself.

8. Fate is the endless chain of causation, whereby things are ; the reason or formula by which the worlds goes on.

9. All things are parts of one single system, which is called Nature ; the individual life is good when it is in harmony with Nature.

10. Among the virtues some are primary, and some are subordinate to these.

The following are the primary : Wisdom, courage, justice, temperance.

11. If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but your own estimate of it ; and you have the power to revoke at any moment.

12. The avaricious man is like the barren sandy ground of the desert which sucks in all the rain and dew with greediness, but yields no fruitful herbs or plants for the benefits of others.

※ Zeno Zeno of Elea, BC 490~BC 430, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeno_of_Elea ) ; pre-Socratic Greek philosopher from Elea, in Southern Italy (Magna Graecia).

He was a student of Parmenideshttps://cw2588.blogspot.com/2023/09/parmenides-of-elea-sayings-quotes-wiki.html ) and one of the Eleatics.

Zeno defended his instructor's belief in monism, the idea that only one single entity exists that makes up all of reality.

He rejected the existence of spacetime, and motion.

To disprove these concepts, he developed a series of paradoxes to demonstrate why they are impossible.

His paradoxes have influenced philosophy and mathematics, both in ancient and modern times.
