What did people truly want to say to the world?
I want to convey the true heart of the person published here.
With this mindset, I hope to properly express Koizumi Yakumo's heart.
1. The Shadow-maker shapes forever.
그림자를 만드는 존재는 영원히 모습을 드러낸다.
2. Any idealism is a proper subject for art.
모든 이상주의는 예술에 적절한 주제이다.
3. All good work is done the way ants do things : Little by little.
모든 좋은 일은 개미가 일을 하는 방식으로 조금씩 이루어진다.
4. The more you wish to be, the wiser you are ; while the wish to have is apt to be foolish in proportion to its largeness.
더 나은 사람이 되기를 원할수록 더 현명해진다.
반면에 소유욕은 그 크기에 비례하여 더 어리석어지기 쉽다.
5. There is a greater happiness possible than to be lord of heaven and earth ; that is the happiness of being truly loved.
하늘과 땅의 주인이 되는 것보다 더 큰 행복이 있다.
그것은 진정으로 사랑받는 행복이다.

가장 위대한 현대 사상가들은 인류가 도덕성보다 모든 면에서 더 빠르게 발전해왔다는 사실을 간파했다.

한 가지는 항상 잘못된 것이다.
자신의 쾌락을 만족시키기 위해 다른 사람들에게 고통을 주는 것인데,
그것은 영원히 잘못된 것이다.
8. In order to comprehend the beauty of a Japanese garden, it is necessary to understand - or at least to learn to understand - the beauty of stone.
일본 정원의 아름다움을 이해하기 위해서는 돌의 아름다움을 이해하거나 적어도 이해하는 법을 배워야 한다.
9. Japanese affection is not uttered in words ; it scarcely appears even in the tone of voice ; it is chiefly shown in acts of exquisite courtesy and kindness.

Being better able to control himself under all circumstances, he has a great advantage over the savage.
고도로 문명화된 사람은 도덕적으로든 육체적으로든 야만인보다 비할 데 없이 더 잘 견딜 수 있다.
어떤 상황에서도 자신을 더 잘 컨트롤할 수 있어 야만인보다 훨씬 유리하다.
12. No man can possibly know what life means, what the world means, until he has a child and loves it.
And then the whole universe changes and nothing will ever again seem exactly as it seemed before.
아이가 생기고 사랑하기 전 까지는 인생이 무엇을 의미하는지, 세상이 무엇을 의미하는지 알기가 어렵다.
아이가 생기면 전 우주가 변하게 되고, 세상이 새롭게 보이게 될 것이다.
13. The tea ceremony requires years of training and practice...
Yet the whole of this art, as to its detail, signifies no more than the making and serving of a cup of tea.
The supremely important matter is that the act be performed in the most perfect, most polite, most graceful, most charming manner possible.
다도(茶道)는 수년간의 훈련과 연습이 필요하다.
그러나 세부 사항에 관한 다도 예술의 전체는 차 한 잔을 만들고 제공하는 것 이상을 의미하지 않는다.
가장 중요한 문제는, 다도 행위는 가장 완벽하고 공손하며, 가장 우아하고 매력적인 방식으로 수행된다는 것이다.
14. The fact to which I want to call attention is that the master of Judo never relies upon his own strength.
He scarcely uses his own strength in the greatest emergency.
Then what does he use?
Simply the strength of his antagonist.
The force of the enemy is the only means by which that enemy is overcome.
내가 주목하고 싶은 사실은, 유도(柔道)의 달인은 결코 자신의 힘에 의존하지 않는다는 것이다.
가장 큰 위기에서 그는 자신의 힘을 거의 사용하지 않는다.
그럼 그는 무엇을 사용하는가?
단순히 상대자의 힘을 활용한다.
상대의 힘은 상대를 압도하는 유일한 수단이다.
