1. Some things happen by accident - embrace them.

8. I started being a photographer because I liked fashion.

귀걸이도 하고, 머리도 염색하며, 옷을 통해 내 모습을 바꾸는 게 좋았다.

9. Beauty is emotional!
That's why plastic surgery never works.
Women who want to change their nose, lips, they don't understand that they are doing nothing except erasing their magic.
아름다움은 감정이다!
그래서 성형수술은 절대 효과가 없다.
코나 입술을 바꾸고 싶어 하는 사람들은 자신의 마법(매력)을 없애는 것 외에는 아무것도 하지 않는다는 사실을 이해하지 못한다.
10. My favorite type of photography - apart from fashion photography - is journalism, which in a way documents something that exists in a very precise moment, that didnt exist in a moment before and will not exist ever again.
This has influenced my work a lot.
패션 사진을 제외하고 내가 가장 좋아하는 사진 장르는 저널리즘이다.
저널리즘은 아주 정확한 순간에 존재하는 무언가를 기록하는 장르로, 과거에는 존재하지 않았고 앞으로도 영원히 존재하지 않을 무언가를 기록하는 장르이다.
이는 내 작업에 많은 영향을 미쳤다.
11. Most photographers go and photograph something that they see, that exists, and that somebody else has created - they document it.
But fashion photographers have to create what they're going to photograph.
We have to go into the thought and build it up, get a girl, get a guy, get a situation, get the house, get the decor.
It's the meaning of the word photography: "writing with light.“
대부분의 사진 작가들은 자신이 보고, 존재하며, 다른 누군가가 창조한 것을 사진으로 기록한다.
하지만 패션 사진 작가들은 자신이 찍을 것을 창조해야 한다.
우리는 생각 속으로 들어가 그것을 구축해야 한다.
여자, 남자, 상황, 집 등에 대해 구상(構想)하고 장식(粧飾)을 추가해야 한다.
사진이라는 단어의 의미는 "빛으로 쓰는 것"이라는 뜻이다.
12. I waited a long time, an hour or two, to make that picture perfect.
But I wasn't totally satisfied.
Then, when I'd finished the shoot, they were about to leave and they suddenly hugged in front of a radiator.
I took my camera and that was the picture that ran everywhere - it was spontaneous emotion you could see they were completely in love.
그 사진을 완벽하게 찍기 위해 한두 시간, 꽤 오랜 시간을 기다렸다.
하지만 완전히 만족하지는 못했다.
촬영을 마치고 나서 그들이 떠나려던 순간, 갑자기 라디에이터 앞에서 포옹을 했다.
그 장면을 카메라로 찍었는데, 그 사진이 곳곳으로 퍼졌다.
즉흥적인 감정이 물씬 풍기는 사진이었고, 두 사람이 완전히 사랑에 빠졌다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
13. A man today has to live with the reality of today.
He can no longer live with the reality of 100 years ago.
The world's changing so fast.
Unless you are prepared to adapt every day, then you have a problem, because the world's not stopping.
오늘날의 인간은 오늘의 현실에 맞춰 살아가야 한다.
더 이상 100년 전의 현실에 맞춰 살아갈 수는 없다.
세상은 너무나도 빠르게 변하고 있다.
세상은 멈추지 않으므로 매일 적응할 준비가 되어 있지 않다면 문제가 있다.
14. I like getting my ideas from the things of now.
I am very conscious of the moment, of images that belong to this moment instead of another period.
Fashion is really a reflection of our lives.
You see women today and they don't do their hair up; they all wear their hair undone.
So you have to reflect that in your photography.
나는 지금 이 순간의 것들에서 아이디어를 얻는 것을 좋아한다.
나는 순간, 다른 시대가 아닌 바로 이 순간에 속하는 이미지에 아주 민감하다.
패션은 우리 인생을 반영한다.
오늘날 여성들을 보면 머리를 묶지 않고 모두 풀어헤친 모습을 하고 있는 사람들이 많다.
그래서 사진에도 이러한 점을 반영해야 한다.
